6 Suggested Next Steps
Based on the findings from this audit, we would recommend the following 4 next steps to deliver the best possible experience for the widest audience:
Consider the recommendations: Address the issues described in this report, making changes in priority order to ensure that the most pressing issues are addressed first and foremost.
Spot-check: Once the findings have been addressed and remedial changes made, User Vision can undertake a spot check of the site, to confirm that the changes have fixed the issues and that these pages are now accessible. To arrange a spot check, please contact the Ministry of Justice Accessibility team at accessibility@justice.gov.uk.
Accessibility statement: Following the spot-check, User Vision can provide you with an accessibility statement, which will confirm the level of WCAG compliance achieved, how this was measured, and any areas of non-compliance that are important for users to be aware of.
Testing with disabled users: Although the website may be compliant with WCAG, it is crucial that it is also usable for disabled users. We would therefore strongly recommend that that the site is tested with disabled users to gather further insight into the usability of the application and to ensure the most inclusive design possible.
